Brio Blog

Keep up on all the happenings at Brio Kennels!
Well Chant has had her very first litter of puppies! Six puppies, 3 boys, 3
girls. All of them black except for one liver girl. Everyone had a great time
and did very well at the Nationals this year, we walked away with lots of
ribbons, learned many new things and got to visit with everyone. While Chant
has been busy raising her puppies, Bebe has been running rampant through the
fields. Earning her JH title and hopefully running in Senior this fall. She
also obtained her show championship! She was only out two weekends and
finished w/ all majors! Very proud of this gorgeous little devil! The Brio
girls will be adding another curly addition so check back to learn more about
the new girl! Also some "straight hairs" will be joining the crew so check
back to learn more about them as well.

Well it has been a while since I have posted, I am not seeing this as an
effective way of communicating, so just email if you are wondering what is
going on, because I am for sure not sitting on my couch! Since the last
posting, Chant and Bebe, wowed the crowds at Pheasant Fest with Native Dog
Food and the Curly Coat Club of America. Chant earned the Edison Stone annual
Hunt test trophy award and passed an UKC upland event. Chant also graced the
cover of the Curly Commentator for her historical accomplishments in 2008.
Bebe has not been up to much, just training and gettting geared up for the
2009 Specialty and this summers events. But keep an eye out for her in 2009,
she will be the newest shining star in no time!

At the Agathon Kennel Club under judge Anne Bolus Chant won her final
championship point to make her the first female CH/MH in CCR history. This
accomplishment could not have been obtained with out Jen Kofron and her
outstanding breeding program, Ellen Manes and numerous individuals that have
guided me along the way. I want to thank everyone who was part of this
accomplishment, it feels surreal to have happened. I feel blessed that I was
able to work w/such a wonderful dog to obtain this level of acheivement.

Well so much has happened at Brio Retrievers this year! To wrap up this
seasons accomplishments; Bebe obtained three majors for a total of 12 points
at the Finger Lakes Shows in NY and is only three points away from obtaining
her bench championship. She is also progressing in her field training and will
be ready to compete in the summer of 09. Chant finished her Master Hunter
title in August of 08 at the Greater Pittsburgh Golden Retriever Club. She is
the only living female Master Hunter and only the second female curly coat in
history to obtain this title. She is one bench point shy of obtaining her show
championship and we will be trying to wrap up this title over the 08-09
winter.
Chant was also bred to Bob in November of 08, using the artifical insemination
process, but sadly this did not take. When Chant comes into season in the
spring of 09 she will be sent to WI for a natural breeding with Bob. Janean
Marti of Ptarmagin Retrievers reported that Bob is counting down the days
until Chant arrives:)

Hello!

Well I was going to try and keep up w/this blog...not really working so I will catch everyone up on what is happening! First of all Chant has  obtained 3 more majors towards her Championship!! She is one point shy of finishing up her Championship and I am hoping to finish that up by the end up the year. Chant also has obtained two additional Master legs. She obtained one at the Backwater Retriever Club and the other one at the Cuyahoga Valley Golden Retriever Club.

BB is growing and growing, the picture listed on the website does not show how big she now is which means I need to change it! She is a whopping 70lbs and growing. She is kind of an eight month old air head, but is doing all right.

As far as getting the kennel up and running, the garage kennels are complete, I have one outdoor kennel up and I am hoping to get up the second one this month. I also purchased a dog trailer this month as "the crew" of dogs, both my own and clients...keeps growing!

The month of July will be quiet at Brio, there are no scheduled shows or hunt tests, just allot of training!

Entry for January 23, 2008
Finally I got the website and photo album done! hope you all enjoy!

The biggest news is last week Chant won the CCRCA  annual field trophy award for the most accomplished field curly in the USA for 2007! I am very blessed to have such a great dog and to have been given such great help and advice by everyone who has helped Chant and I obtain this level of achievement! Thanks to all who have been so helpful!
